A short trip to London ... There was a good reason to visit the city on the banks of the river Thames. Melanie, a good friend of mine, was for six month in London and launched a project. So we decided to spent an extended weekend on the island. It started with a delayed flight. Our Easyjet flight arrived more than one our and so we arrived in the hotel nearly midnight. However, this city never sleeps and so we enjoyed a late dinner. 

The first day Simone and I did some sightseeing. We visited all tghe places of interest, like Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Trafalgar Square, etc. After this lovely city walk, we strolled the promenade at the river thames. The weather invited to enjoy life. So we had some coffee at Starbucks and sit down, watched the river and had a beer. Certainly the Tower of London was another place, that we had to see. So we had a look on the crown jewels and funny costumes of the guards. Richmond was our destinantion in the evening and we met Melanie at an italian restaurant. After finishing dinner she took us to an original english pub at the river Thames. Lovely view and really nice little town! 

Flying the London Eye offers a fantastic view across London. Followed by a real big shopping at Selfridges. The ladies were for more than an hour in the shoe department and had success. If you are in London you should see the antique market in the Portobello Road. In the evening we enjoyed the lovely view of the illuminated buildings in downtown London. 

Sunday was a cultural day! Not really a whole day in the British Museum, but a few hours. It was only a small view on the exhibitions. You have to bring more time with you, to get a closer look ... 

We enjoyed the Pimms and a city with heart. London, we'll come back!
