Skiing Hochkrimml
February 2007

Who does not know Europe's highest waterfalls in Krimml. Ok, I hace to admit, that I didn't know them before. But meanwhile I know the small place in the "Salzburger Land"/Austria. A colleague gave me the tip and so we booked two appartments at the hotel "Filzstein" in Hochkrimml. It is located at the Gerlosplatte and from the ski cellar iit is maximum 30m up to the first lift. Better is the way back. From the last umbrella you could ski to directly into the cellar.

Unfortunately the winter 2006/2007 was not very cold and it didn't snow very much. Thus we had to make the best of it. On 1.700m above sealevel layed the hotel, so enough snow around. Unfortunately the snow was very hard, not really pleasantly. However, we could drive each day. The skiing area is enormous. The "Zillertal arena" extends from the Gerlosplatte, Königsleiten, Gerlos until Zell am Ziller. You should plan half of a day ito go to Zell from our hotel. The best view to the snocovered mountains, you have from Zell. There the entire Zillertal lies to your feet. But you could also see, that there is more spring than winter and it doesn't snow very much in the valley: Springtime in Mayrhofen!

The huts and umbrellas were tested intensively and a Jagertee was the best drink for ending a successfull skiing-day.! After this, we went to the sauna every day. Wonderful and renovated freshly. Have a look to the pictures and make yourself a picture.
