Roundtrip Canada / Chicago
September 1999
The destination was Canada! We've
Tiffani's guests and it was absolutely funny. So we had also a very good cityguide for
Vancouver. Besides we become acquianted with some very nice people. More you'll find under
the rubric Friends.
After three days in Vancouver we picked up our winabago and drove eastwards to the
Rockies. On the way there we visited the Wells Gray Provincial Park. You must see this!
It's apiece of untouched nature, where tourism is extremly rare yet. The next stop was
Mount Robson Park and the Icefields Parkway, another highlight on the trip. Unfortunately
we had clouds in the sky. Nevertheless we got some great impressions of glaciers. When you
come to Lake Louise you have to stop at the Moraine Lake, which is amazing. Especially the
turquoise water. On the way back we stayed in the Yoho National Park with its Emerald Lake
and the Takkakaw Falls, one of Canada's highest waterfalls. Radium Hot Springs and
Revelstoke were not my favorite towns, but also nice.
After twelve days in Canada we flew to Chicago for another three days. It's absolutely
recommendable for a short stopover. You can see the history of skyscrapers from the aerly
beginnings to the Sears Tower, which is the second highest building in the world yet. When
you've wonderful weather, you can also do a nice walk down at the harbour. Unfotunately
it's too expensive for shopping there.
